2020 Ford SuperDuty Specs

The Ford F-250 has a lot to offer in 2020. With the addition of exciting new powertrain options, interior amenities, and incredible payload and towing capacities, this heavy-duty truck can outmuscle most dual-axle vehicles on the Georgia job site.

What’s the Best Engine Option in the New Ford F-250?

The Ford F-250 has been America’s Heavy-Duty truck since it was introduced in 1998. The F-250 is the next-in-line power option after the light-duty Ford F-150, which is one of the most sold trucks in America. If you want the technology and dependability of the F-150 but need more power out of your truck to haul heavy loads, the Ford F-250 is the truck you should consider. The 2020 F-250 is available with three engine options, the first being A 6.2L V8, the second being an even more powerful at 7.3L V8, and the last being a 6.7L Power Stroke® diesel V8 that’s all-new for the Super Duty lineup. These engines output 385, 430, and 475 horsepower respectively, and deliver 430, 475, and 1,050 pound-feet of torque each. Depending on which F-250 you choose, your truck will have either the TorqShift®heavy-duty 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift or the 6-speed variant.

What’s New for 2020?

The Ford F-250 is meant to deliver on Jobsite usefulness, without sacrificing standard city drivability. This year’s model does that better than ever, offering the new 6.7L Power Stroke® diesel V8 in the Super Duty’s High-strength fully boxed steel frame, that delivers industry-topping power in a form factor that can still fit in the parking spaces of your favorite coffee shop. Towing capacity has increased resulting from the new Powertrain upgrades, with conventional trailer weights on the 6.2L V8 maxing out at 20,000 pounds. The Super Duty line also has access to an all-new off-road package called the Tremor, which offers additional options from the conventional FX4 package from previous years. The upgrades include a 2-inch front lift, retuned suspension, upgraded shock absorbers, and 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires, so you can conquer any terrain you please. The Tremor package also includes skid-plates and a rock-crawl mode. A bevy of Driver-Assist options hit the F-250 this year, with features like Automatic High-beams becoming standard on all models, and Lane-Keeping Alert becoming standard on the XLT packages and above.

Which F-250 Super Duty Should You Buy?

The 2020 Ford F-250 is available in XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited variants. The F-250 XL is a great standard package that offers competitive towing and horsepower specs. With this package, you have access to the 6.2L engine and its 6-speed transmission. The XLT package offers a high level of value, however, offering access to the beefier engine that nets a sizable increase in horsepower and torque. The XLT has slightly better access to other features in the F-250 lineup, like Pre-Collision Assist and Remote Keyless Entry. The XLT has access to every bed and cab configuration, which includes Regular Cab, SuperCab, and CrewCab variants upfront, and options for either a 6.8 or 8.2-footbed in the back. Lariat models are the first step up into luxury features, offering an 8-inch productivity screen and B&O™ Premium Sound System. Options continue to increase until you reach the F-250 King Ranch Variant, which includes many of the interior features offered by the other packages, with the addition of features like a remote start system, Unique King Ranch® Kingsville Antique effect leather bucket seating, and Accent-Color front and rear bumpers. It’s best to choose your cab type and bed length first, and then choose the trim level that offers your configuration, in addition to the comfort features that matter most to you.

Is the 2020 Ford F-250 a Reliable Truck?

The Ford F-250 line has ranked well with the most notable car review organizations, even more so than the Ford F-150. The F-250 comes with a 5 year/60,000-mile Powertrain Warranty on the V8 gas engine models, and a 5 year/100,000-mile warranty on the diesel models. When it comes to trucks that clear the half-ton mark, it’s best to know you’re covered in the event of overstrain. If you buy your 2020 F-250 from Five Star Ford Stone Mountain, you’ll get a lifetime Powertrain warranty, with no additional cost to you. While the jury’s still out on the brand new F-250 in terms of long-term toughness, it can be easier to put your truck to task when you know your dealer’s got you covered.
