Trim Levels of the 2025 Ford Explorer

The 2025 Ford Explorer comes in Active, ST-Line, Platinum, and ST trim levels. The base-level Active starts at $39,755, and it has:

The ST's MSRP is $54,260. The heated steering wheel and cloth seats have ST logos, and the seats include red stitching. A new black roof is available with the ST-Line, Platinum, or ST.

Performance and MPG

The Active, ST-Line, and Platinum trims use a 2.3-liter, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. It can travel 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. With all-wheel drive, both figures go down by 1 mpg. You'll get 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.

The ST comes with paddle shifters and a sport-tuned suspension. It has a turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 motor that provides 415 pound-feet of torque and 400 horsepower, and this engine is optional with the Platinum. It gets 18 mpg in traffic and 26 mpg on larger roads. With all-wheel drive, you can go 24 mpg at higher speeds.

Both engines have a 10-speed automatic transmission. You'll get trailer sway control and a terrain management system, and the 2025 Explorer can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
