Differences Between Ford F-150 XLT & Lariat Trims

Configurations

Both the 2018 XLT and Lariat Ford F-150 trims can be purchased as regular, extended, or crew cab. The regular and extended-cab versions can be paired to either the standard or long bed length. The crew cab is available with either the short bed or standard bed. The crew cab has the largest interior and has four doors, but the extended cab has plenty of storage space inside the cabin. The extended and crew cab versions come with 60/40-split folding rear seats. The XLT adds on a few desirable exterior features not found on the base trim. These include alloy wheels, chrome bumpers, chrome exterior trim, and foglights. The Lariat comes with 18-inch wheels regardless of configuration, and it also features all of the exterior upgrades that come standard on the XLT.

Interior

Standard on both the XLT and Lariat is a 40/20/40-split front bench seat. Rear privacy glass, carpeting, and driver and passenger lumbar adjustments are also included. The tall cabin will accommodate six-footers with ease. Three adults can easily fit into the rear seating area of the crew cab. Forward and side visibility are excellent. The Lariat comes with a rearview camera as standard equipment. Both the XLT and Lariat come with full power accessories including power locks and a locking tailgate. These two trims also feature several storage bins and pocket not found on the base XL trim. The Lariat has a few additional features not found on the XLT. These include power-adjustable pedals, dual-zone automatic climate control, and leather upholstery.

Package Options

The 2018 Ford F-150 XLT can be rigged with a special Mid 301A package that adds on such niceties as heated mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a cargo management system with tie-down cleats, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. There’s also a Luxury 302 package that includes rear parking sensors, an 8-inch screen display, Sync 3, and Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The Lariat version can be purchased with the Luxury 502 package that adds on LED headlights, a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel, front bucket seats, and navigation. A luxury sound system with 11 speakers is also included with this package.
